Dulce Bites Story
My family recipe is the traditional Colombian version: two delicate butter cookies filled with creamy dulce-de-leche, rolled in coconut and dusted with powdered sugar. Additionally, I make alfajores rolled in toasted almonds, or dipped in dark or white chocolate. Every version is delicious. Our Alfajores
The classic alfajor is a sandwich of buttery shortbread-like cookies made with Maizena (South American cornstarch) filled with creamy dulce-de-leche and sprinkled with powdered sugar.
The coconut alfajor is a sandwich of buttery shortbread-like cookies filled with creamy dulce-de-leche, sprinkled with powdered sugar and rolled in shredded coconut.
The almond alfajor is a sandwich of buttery shortbread-like cookies filled with creamy dulce-de-leche, sprinkled with powdered sugar and rolled in toasted almonds.
The chocolate dipped alfajor is a sandwich of buttery shortbread-like cookies filled with creamy dulce-de-leche and dipped in mild, dark or white chocolate.
